RIP Brittany Murphy
By now you have probably heard the unfortunate news that Brittany Murphy has died at the age of 32.
While it is obviously too early to tell the exact cause of death, early indications are that it was from cardiac arrest due to natural causes.

Whenever a celebrity dies before their time, it is usually chalked up to a lifestyle of excessive drugs and/or alcohol and/or risky behavior like driving 130 miles per hour on the 405 while hopped up on vodka and designer pain pills. There are almost too many examples to name – DJ AM, Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson are just a handful of the most recent stars whose lives were shortened by the fast lane. But when a young person dies through seemingly no fault of their own, which seems to be the case with the passing of Brittany Murphy, it serves as a solemn attestation of a grim reality that is very easy to downplay in our own minds as we go through life.
Tragic events like this should be viewed as humbling reminders that as much as we’d like to believe that we are guaranteed to live to 85, or 65, or even until tomorrow, we aren’t. It is sad that it takes the senseless loss of a talented young woman to reinforce the fact that we only have a finite amount of time to live, and that we should take time to be thankful for the things and people that we have, and make a point to live every day as well as you can – because you truly don’t know how many of them you actually have left.

Brittany spent her life giving us the gift of entertainment through her onscreen performances. Hopefully her untimely death will serve us as an inspiration to take care of ourselves and one another.
