I didn’t even think that this was possible, but there is a site with funnier want-ad interactions than even my own personal ads I’ve been posting on Craigslist for the past couple of years.
The writing style is actually pretty similar to mine – in fact I encountered the site when a regular reader of mine asked me if it was my work. Since then, I’ve lost about two hours reading the transcripts of a guy who obnoxiously engages the authors of ads ranging from woodchippers for sale to missed connection personal ads.
His approach is different than mine; I create and post the ads as an obvious joke. He simply answers existing ads that are presumably serious. Say what you will about his blatant disregard for others’ time – but the results are consistently laugh out loud hilarious – probably some of the funniest things I’ve ever read online.
